Requirements
- WordPress 7.0 or newer and PHP 7.4 or newer. The PHP mbstring extension is not needed.
- Copies bought on a marketplace (WPBay…) are complete: Aluleth Insights is included, nothing else to install and no licence key. Copies bought on the Aluleth Market are an add-on: they need the free Aluleth Insights plugin (0.4.2 or newer), installed and active, and a licence key for the Pro features and updates.
- For revenue: WooCommerce or FluentCart. Aluleth Funnels orders are counted once.
- For the weekly summary in words and “Ask a question”: an AI provider connected in Settings › Connectors (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google…), with your own key. Without one, the summary is made from the numbers alone.
- Optional: Aluleth CRM (contacts, email clicks), Aluleth Popups and Forms (sign-ups in the path), Aluleth SMTP (email reports), a consent plugin that uses the WP Consent API.
Installation
Marketplace copy (complete plugin)
- In Plugins › Add New › Upload Plugin, upload
aluleth-insights-pro.zipand activate it. - Counting starts at once: open Aluleth › Insights. Choose how visitors are counted and who is left out in Insights › Settings.
If the free Aluleth Insights plugin is already on your site, keep it or remove it: your statistics and settings stay either way. While Aluleth Insights Pro is active, the separate plugin is not activated next to it (its Activate link says “Included in Aluleth Insights Pro”).
Aluleth Market copy (add-on)
- Install and activate the free Aluleth Insights plugin (0.4.2 or newer).
- Upload and activate Aluleth Insights Pro.
- Enter your licence key in Aluleth › Settings › Licences: the Pro features and one-click updates turn on.
How visitors are counted
- No cookies (default): a visitor is a code made from the IP address, the browser and a random value replaced every day, so visits on different days are never linked. The IP address and the full browser string are never stored.
- No cookies, and wait for consent: nothing is counted until the visitor accepts statistics in your cookie banner (WP Consent API: Complianz, CookieYes and others).
- One first-party cookie after consent: returning visitors are recognised once they accepted statistics.
- Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control are respected; bots, your own roles and the IP addresses or ranges you list are left out. The script weighs under 3 KB, loads after the page and works with page caching.
- Visit details are kept 6, 14 or 25 months; only daily totals stay after that.
Overview, sources, pages and goals
- Overview: visitors, page views, time per visit, visitors who left after one page and visits with a goal, compared with the period before; visitors per day, who is on the site right now, dated notes on the chart.
- Sources: channels (search, direct, social, email, paid, AI assistants, other sites), sites and sources, UTM campaigns with their landing page, and a tool to make campaign links.
- Pages: visitors, page views, entries, visitors who left after that page and time on the page, with a filter.
- Goals: a page visited (with a minimum time), a click, a download, a link to another site, a form, a popup, an order or a membership. Goals found on your site can be followed in one click. The share of visits that reach a goal is shown for every source and campaign.
- Countries come from Cloudflare when your site uses it, otherwise from the visitor’s time zone. Export the daily totals as CSV.
Revenue
- Every order paid with WooCommerce or FluentCart is kept with the visit that bought. Orders paid by visitors Insights does not count, or confirmed only by the payment service, show as “Not linked to a visit”. Orders on hold (bank transfer) count once paid.
- Refunds (also partial), cancelled, failed, trashed and deleted orders follow the amount; an order restored from the bin comes back.
- Revenue, orders, average order, orders per 100 visits and revenue per visitor, compared with the period before, and revenue per day.
- Revenue by channel, source, campaign, landing page, email, popup, form, store and funnel, with four models: last touch (default), first touch, linear and time decay. The model shown first and the look-back window (7, 30 or 90 days) are settings.
- The last orders with their path: visits, email clicks, popup sign-ups and forms, in order. Amounts in different currencies are never added together.
Journeys, funnels and cohorts
- Journeys (for people allowed to see contacts): the most common paths to a first order, the people who bought or did something during a counted visit, and each contact’s journey day by day. An “Insights” card on the Aluleth CRM contact page links to it.
- Funnels of up to 8 steps: a page (with * for every page under an address), a goal, a click in one of your Aluleth CRM emails, an order or a first order; in the same visit or within 1 to 60 days; split by device or channel, with the biggest drop. Funnels made with Aluleth Funnels show on their own.
- Cohorts: customers grouped by the month of their first order, with the share who ordered again in each of the 6 months after, or what they spent.
Ask, email reports and alerts
- The week in plain words: each Monday, what changed the week before, written by your AI provider or from the numbers alone. “Write it for the last 7 days” makes one now. The last 12 weeks are kept.
- Ask a question about your numbers: the AI chooses the tables, Insights computes them and the AI explains them. Up to 30 questions an hour per person. Only totals are sent to the AI provider, never a visitor, contact, email address or order.
- Email reports (up to 10): daily, weekly or monthly, at the hour you choose, to up to 10 addresses. A report that could not be sent shows “Not sent” and is tried again at the next hours.
- Alerts (up to 20), checked every hour: traffic spike or drop, counting stops, a goal stops or falls, revenue falls, no order, a funnel falls. By email, Slack, Discord or Telegram (Aluleth › Connections) and as a card in Aluleth Boards. An alert stays quiet for 6 hours after it fires, and at most 20 alerts are sent a day. Saved webhook addresses are shown masked.
Privacy
- Everything stays in your WordPress database. Nothing is sent to us.
- The source of the visit that bought is kept with the order, like WooCommerce’s own order attribution. The pages of a contact’s visits are shown in their journey only when the visitor agreed to statistics.
- Buyers are recognised by a code made from their email address with a secret key, never by the address itself.
- Personal data export and erase (Tools › Export / Erase Personal Data) include the Pro data; erasing keeps the order in the totals without its path or visit. Suggested text for your privacy policy is in Settings › Privacy.
Translating the plugin
Aluleth Insights Pro uses the text domain aluleth-insights-pro (template languages/aluleth-insights-pro.pot), the free Aluleth Insights uses aluleth-insights. Put the compiled files in wp-content/languages/plugins/, for example aluleth-insights-pro-fr_FR.mo and aluleth-insights-fr_FR.mo: updates leave them there. In the complete copy sold on marketplaces, the included Aluleth Insights also reads its translations from the plugin’s free/languages/ folder. Loco Translate and similar plugins work with both.
Uninstalling
Deactivating keeps everything. Deleting the plugin removes its data only when you ticked it in Aluleth › Settings › Data and privacy: Insights Pro has its own choice (revenue, paths, funnels, reports), separate from the Insights statistics. With a marketplace copy, the statistics are kept while the separate Aluleth Insights plugin is still installed, and deleting the separate plugin keeps them while Aluleth Insights Pro is installed.
Troubleshooting
- My own visits are not counted. Administrators, editors and shop managers are left out while signed in: change this in Insights › Settings, or use a private window.
- No revenue shows. Orders count once they are paid. Orders of visitors Insights did not count (for example before they accepted statistics) show as “Not linked to a visit”.
- The weekly summary has no text in words. Connect an AI provider in Settings › Connectors; without one the summary is made from the numbers.
- The Pro features do not show (Aluleth Market copy). Aluleth Insights 0.4.2 or newer must be active, and the licence active in Aluleth › Settings › Licences.
- Still stuck? Contact support through the place where you bought the plugin, with your WordPress, PHP and plugin versions.
